I've never seen this growing here before. There was a tree that died nearby last year and the chickens have been scratching the area...

there's lots of it growing in a large patch. It's just barely starting to flower.

I dug this post up because I still don't know what this plant is. It's not totally shady here, it gets morning sun.

We've had so much rain this year that we haven't been able to mow this area. I think maybe this plant likes boggy conditions and that's why it's doing so well this year.

This is a tough one!! Since the umbels and look are similar to Mock Bishop Weed which grows here, I looked at all of the Ptilmniums but none have whorled leaves like this one. There are some with the same type of stems. Even the conditions seem right for some of them that like marshy conditions. Sighing!
