This Japanese Maple, 'Waterfall' is supposed to be in shade. But this baby has been in full sun with temps in the upper 90's for a whole month and it has almost doubled in size. No scorching or anything, the plant seems to like the full sun and the hot temps. Amazing!Thumb of 2012-07-12/virginiarose/cce9aa

Susan - There is something about Japanese Maples. When I see them I want to buy them. I have several in full sun. They all seem to do ok so far.

I have almost all of mine in full sun , they seem to like it. Bloodgood has much better color in sun. Waterfall is one on my want list , but running out of space for trees.

Another one that loves full sun is Garnet, I have that one, Red Dragon, and Fire Glow. All mine are still small, I got them off eBay. Green Grin!
