Yes that is probably too much heat, sorry. Especially for a potted plant.

Sighing! Oh well, I'll guess I'll only try it if I see one at a garden center around here (which is virtually impossible) and it's cheap. I don't want to spend a fortune on something that will end up dying

My order just came in today. Was worried about the cold weather but all is okay. From the Succulent Source.

Potted up today. The agave is for a friend. Love that almost all yellow aloe.

What kind of light are you planning on giving that extra-variegated aloe, Stush? I mean, when the sun comes back in the spring or whenever. Smiling

For the curious, I have finally updated our database entry for the spiral aloe (with help from @plantladylin), and added a comment about the plant, including advice on care. As always, your feedback and corrections are welcome.

Thank you Baja. I did this before in the past so I am confident I can do better this time with better seed. I have heard they do not like having their roots disturb so great care has to be taken when transplanting. I try to keep the roots intact as a root ball when transplanting and in a very shallow pot as oppose to a typical deep one. I have read reviews that said the opposite so??? If I use a deeper pot, I would fill it half way with gravel and then the typical mix of 50/50 grit to potting soil.
The almost all yellow Aloe nobilis will be in west facing window light and then in my 1/2 shaded protected area I plan to build this spring. This spot will also be nice for the Aloe polyphylla plants. Only I will have to water the poly's more. The other more greener Aloe nobilis will be treated like the rest of my aloes. I don't think they will give me any trouble rooting thru out the winter being ready for the coming summer.
PS, I find the data base helpful and newer and nicer than before. (nice touch) Hurray!

They are more of a pink color normally.

Hey Stush, Variegated Nobilis can take full sun all day, I grow mine on west facing tetris wall, and it gets sun until 5pm in summer, no problems what so ever

Karen, That sounds familar.
Pete, I was worried about the almost all yellow one. I love the red tones in yours.
I think they were $10 a cutting and now they are $6 a cutting and shipping is the same on one or 4. Don't know how much before it also increases. Was on my wish list a while and said "The hell with it" and bought two. Glad I did due to the almost all yellow one they sent. Some don't like them because it is so weak.
Karen, They are suppose to pup like crazy, If so, I'll save you one.

A person I know on my other site I visit has a baby Agave 'White Rhino' that almost all white with just a hint of green in the centers. It's so rare that you might have to pay just to look at it. (joking). Regular 'White Rhino' sells for an open credit card plus a pint of blood. Hilarious!

I got one from Stush and it is making three of its own pups. So they seem easy to care for and prolific. *Blush*

Some perky flowers on the patio here, plus first flowers on seedling offspring... and holiday gifts in progress, all dressed up to party.
