The sky pictures are so gorgeous, all! Wish I had some to share, but will keep this in mind the next time I look up!!

Not sure who Frank meant by the 'you know who' remark, but that was very unkind. I hope he edits his comment so this thread can remain pleasant. I am enjoying all the pictures Group hug

Thank you all, for your interesting comments and great Photos.

We all spend so much time looking down at the earth for those weeds; those unforgettable colours that nature gifts us with, and that we love to photograph; those plants that are new to us, that we may be experimenting with; and the sheer beauty that we've been allowed to foster and create, that we don't often give credit to the skies and the ever changing cloud-scapes that dance above us.

The Jet trails in the sky, a couple of years ago in March, made me wish I had a panorama lense, to take in the interplay of blue sky, white clouds and man made lines above my head. I hope these three photos can create an overview of the sky dance that caught my fancy.

Is it OK if I post some? Contrails, and a sunrise, sunset from my house. Gene

I just did a kind of slideshow through all the pictures posted so far, and the whole set just had me in awe!

I remembered this morning that I did take some pictures of a cloud. This picture was taken on the one-year anniversary of my father's death. I had gone to the cemetery early that morning to place yellow roses and a poem on his grave because I thought it would comfort my mom and sisters who would probably be visiting later. As I stood there and took a picture of the gravestone with the flowers and poem, I started to tear up. Since I was on my way to work, I did not want to totally ruin my makeup, so I looked up to regain my composure. This cloud was above me. It instantly calmed me because I felt that my dad was watching over me in that instant.

Gene: "Feel good that there is a place to share pictures in general. Frank, my experience is that most people do not look at the sky very often, at least not and think pictures. Gene".
But Gene, you are expressing an opinion as a professional/teacher on the subject, which provides you some income presumably. However, no one else on this post other than you, appears to be a professional and yet we want to introduce a new category within the Photography Blog, or elsewhere and you (I thought) seriously downplayed the idea. Obviously there are other posters who are enchanted with taking pictures of the sky, and should be encouraged to do so, and as such, you can't speak for "most people"! Not looking for an argument just thought your comment insulting! You then posted some of your own sky scenes which I really liked! I have really liked all the "sky" pictures submitted so far by everyone! I have a beautiful photograph in the Kitchen of "Aurora Borealis" i.e "Northern Lights" taken from Northern Labrador, not by me, but just sensational! I find the more remote one is, there is a tendendacy to "look up" often! Let's keep those pictures coming! Cheers

Frank. Do not really understand you and/or some of your comments but, hey. Only message I seem to get from you is that I should not post pictures here. The people here obviously like the sky and clouds and such. A biased bunch just it seems you are. I will still say that the average person does not take pictures looking up very often. A shame for sure.

That's not the tail fin (rudder) of the aircraft. It's the tip of the wing.

Hi Frank. For some reason, on both trips I had window seats. Didn't complain because flying through the clouds is very exhilarating.
