I cleaned some of my plants too. I have a few huge leaved anthuriums that had gotten a layer of algae (A. faustinomirandae, a couple big bird nest types) and some palms. A couple thick leaved orchids. The dilution is less....1-2 teaspoons per gallon. It works great. It has been used for years for botyritis infections in orchids, crown rot on some plants, routine disinfection of orchid seedlings etc. If its safe for use on orchids, its safe for anything else I have...I have never had it damage anything I have put it on when used at proper dilution. However it is NOT an insecticide and won't kill the bugs, which is sad, would be nice to have an all in one product

Hi Physan users,
A question for you...

I got a some of those sturdy, Benchmaster-style shelves for really cheap at a Kmart liquidation. https://www.greenhousemegastor...

Since they were used at a crummy Kmart garden center, I definitely want to disinfect them before using. They've had a soapy shower and rinse at the spray car wash already. I have a bottle of Physan to use as a disinfectant.

Do you guys have a recommended method for getting a deep and thorough disinfecting job with the Physan? I know 1 tablespoon per gallon is recommended for benches. Is just spraying once sufficient or does it need multiple spays or scrubbing or...?

Soaking isn't really an option since these things are 8 feet long. Hilarious!

Thanks much! Green Grin!

If you spray and rinse then spray again and leave it on that will help not only disinfect bot also provide the protection (for a while) against stuff growing on there with a residual effect

It used to be available at the box stores as Physan20. I have not seen it there for years though. I bought it from Amazon.
