You're all really inspiring me to give pollen daubing a try. I will confine my efforts to pinks and blues, and I suppose my fantasy cross would result in a pink and blue bicolor.

I see why using newer varieties as parents helps bring something new to the table, but what about back crossing a newer one with an older variety? I'm thinking of beautiful oldies that I would like to see size or ruffles added to. I'm assuming they'd have to match as to # of chromosomes.
