I used pea gravel over landscape fabric over sand with big pavers in the walking area. My original hope was that the gravel and pavers would hold some heat in the winter time but I couldn't tell you if it does or not. I don't grow in the ground inside the greenhouse but I am a messy person so the gravel has worked well.
