@SCButtercup
Hi Judy, nice to see you here. I have viewed your posts in the other forums and really like your variety of flowers; and your article on planning a garden is spot on.

I started growing Adenium obesum trees from seed only last year August. I purchased my first batches of seeds through ebay. At the time I did not know about Ko, Rinoa, Adeniumcenter and other known sellers. I just went with mixed seeds from random sellers at the less expensive prices. Whistling

The flowers in the pictures were beautiful: reds, whites, pinks, yellows, singles, doubles, triples... Well, I did get lots of pinks, a red, a fuchsia, a couple of whites, but no yellows so far. And no doubles or triples. Still, I was/am happy...it's exciting to watch the first flower buds developing, not knowing what color or shape they will be. Here are pics of some of my first flowers. http://garden.org/thread/view_...
Desert Rose (Adenium obesum 'Caprice')

I just recently planted Rinoa's A. obesum seeds and am eager to watch them grow and blossom. I also have ventured into growing A. arabicum and A. somalense.

There are about 10 or 11 species and subspecies of Adeniums. The most popular, of course, is Adenium obesum. This publication talks about the other subspecies as well.

Happy gardening, Judy!
