Horntoad, we have a group here that contacts developers before they bulldoze an area for construction, and asks for permission to collect the native plants. They then send out a message to MGs and other native plant enthusiasts to meet at the site on a Sat. morning or two to dig up the plants. I used to post it on DG a long time ago to let everyone in the area know. It's a win/win situation for the developers who like the goodwill publicity, and the collectors who are able to save some species that are disappearing.

I hope you take another walk and share more great photos with us. 'Like eye candy....
