That maple tree is a large specimen, and it's old.

I discovered that tree while Plato and I roamed the neighborhood one afternoon. On another walk. the homeowner was in her yard and I inquired about the tree. She related the trees in question were older than she was because she remembers looking out her school's window and seeing them (school once stood where this could be accomplished; long since replaced by the town elsewhere). Anyway, she grew up, had a family and they built their 'lovenest' on the property where those trees lived. She said she was in her 70's.

Thanks for the complements.

Plato, referred to above is our dog, a Siberian Husky.
