Steve, perhaps just a little tight at the top, otherwise I think the framing works very well here
I really like your own suggestion about using a tripod and stopping down more.
My thoughts is that it could be fun to play around a bit with the light the next time. The flower in the middle has a shaded center and having a little more light there would help to attract the viewers attention
