I've not had success in growing these but I buy them to make flowers for edible boquets/basket. Cut frome the blossem end to (but not through) the stem end twice -(or more) to quarter the pepper. Put it in ice water and in a few hours you have a lily. Last time I bought them at Costco I got through waiting in line by showing the woman behind me how to do this. She had a little boy and it's the kind of thing kids enjoy - magic! kb
