One more reason I'm glad I live in a rural area. However there are counties in my state which have the same powers as HOAs. And the stupid land owners were the ones who helped vote it in. It has been brought up in my county but has been trounced soundly. Homeowner Associations have way too much power and no where near enough common sense. If everyone who was considering moving into one would refuse to agree to the stupid oppessive rules the developers would have to change their oppressive tactics. But too many individuals lack the back bone to stand up for their rights so the HOAs do as they please.
