Neat idea! Thank you for sharing this. We'll have to give it a try... our woodpeckers do not come here as much in the summer, so they might be safe. Oh, wait... would they use this for hibernation or just in the warm weather? I know we have the solitary bees already, but it would be nice to have more!

What are the little slits I see between the holes and on the side?
