The weather in '16 could be torqued as well if we go from El Nino to La Nina. I think that at least in terms of temperature, this El Nino is certainly at least tied with the worst ever in '97/'98. With the horrendous storms now in the S & SE, this could go down as worst ever overall.
(Those that measure and keep track of El Nino events separate out the temperature and all other "weather". Given that possibly the tornadoes down S & SE could be worst of the season (including Summer which was not that bad) from my angle this is a really bad El Nino = very possibly the worst ever. I served as a weather expert witness for ~ 10 years in utility rate cases and was a member of the American Meteorological Society.)
And yeah - we are gonna have some plants that are really messed up. Same thing that happened in Spring '98.
