For a narrow, low maintenance plant to hide a window you can't beat Sanseveria, commonly known as Snake Plant.
Here's a link to some pictures of it in our database - they come in a lot of different colors of variegated leaves, as well as shapes and sizes but the most common ones are tall and narrow like these:

Not too many indoor plants will do well with "full sun in summer and no sun in winter" though. Most plants that are suited to growing indoors need good light of varying degrees all year.
As Dutchlady said, it will help us a lot if you can let us know whereabouts (just your city, state or province, or country) you are. Relative light levels in summer, and temperature variations vary with latitude, altitude and of course humidity where you live plays a part in growing your plants too.
