Debbie - Loved the story you shared about MacGyver. Here's my thoughts on his recapture .... if he was around Sparrows long enough to speak sparrow, then he is a wild bird. Too bad they can't send him south here in the USA and release him to remain wild. The thought of him being "caged" after having freedom for probably quite some time, seems cruel. I always think of the zoo animals. Everyone says how well they are taken care of being in captivity, but how truly happy are these caged creatures. I know I would not like to be caged. Birds love to fly. Can you imagine not being able to really fly again.

But ... I am glad they caught and saved him from the cold Winter weather. One has to wonder if he survived that long, could he have continued to survive the rest of the Winter? My guess is that him and the sparrows roost (huddle together for warmth) at night as a flock somewhere warm (like an old barn or eaves of a building roof - heat rises). And then flying around during the day to feeders and wherever for food.

Melanie - Looks like an escaped blue Parakeet to me. https://images.search.yahoo.co...
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.
