I'm afraid that our cold weather hasn't even reached us yet; typically in January and February we can have periods of temps falling as low as the minus 40's with wind chills pushing us even lower- minus 45 to 50 is not uncommon so any chance of survival would be very dim to non existent.
I am glad that MacGyver was able to experience that freedom, at least for a while.
