I was trying to think of a way to help people find friends from other websites.
Like a thread inviting people to post their old screen names, so someone could search that thread for people they knew on other websites, and find their new ATP screen name.
But how would you get many new members to see that thread, and add their old screen names?
I think the only way is to just go back to the old websites, find or email each friend, and ask "are you on ATP yet, and what's your screen name there?"

@Dave could add a searchable field to our ATP Member Profiles, if he thought that was wise, where we could list screen names we have used on other garden websites. But maybe that would feel like "poaching" to him.
