Olvera Street! Yup that's the place! My fondest memory there is that I finally met my Aunt Ann there (whom I was named after) I only met her that one time and I think I was about 5 yrs old. She came in on a train all the way from KY just to meet me
I did go back to Olvera street once with my daughter. We were travelling all over the place on a train and the last stop was union station in L.A. We got to see the church where I was baptized, and the tortilla factory. Ate lunch there and bought all kinds of cheap purses and nick nacks at the flea market, then jumped back on the train to S.F. Fond memories
I did hear that about hwy 17 and it being banked the wrong way. I was told that they didnt want to change it because it deterred speeders
We werent speeding when we went off that cliff
We actually went off the road right next to a big blue sign that said...in case of emergency call 911....but no phone for miles around! We were really really lucky that none of us were injured (6 in the car) came to rest on a tiny tree about 30 feet from solid rock. Thats the day I began believing that God really did exist...have never doubted since then
