I have an amaryllis care question. Once the bloom is spent, how much should I cut back? Just the blossom, or further down the stalk? I know with daffs and such, it's important to leave the stalks and stems so the bulb can store energy. Is the same true for amaryllis?

I've also noticed that at the base of each blossom is a bulge, kind of like rose hips. Should I leave these or prune them off?

thanks for any tips!
