Bet from what I have read so far on zinnias is that they are affected by two funguses.(fungi?) Powdery mildew which phlox are also famous for and leafspot. It starts out as gray or brown spots on the leaves and spreads until all the foliage is ratty with it. Time to pull the plants up.
I overhead water and I'm sure that this is a part of my problem. Sad
