Oops, I just realized I posted my bonsai response in the wrong thread.

Sally, me neither! I can't imagine being the person responsible for root-pruning and repotting that bonsai. Blinking In fact, just typing that out made me slightly nauseous! Eeeeek!

That tree was started in the early 1600s, so it's actually closer to 400 years old. It was kept in the same family until it was donated.

I actually have some root pruning and repotting to do with my own bonsai, which are much, much younger. Big Grin Some of them need to be repotted while dormant, so it's a winter yardening task. But I forgot to pre-mix my bonsai soil while it was warm! Thumbs down I'm not looking forward to sifting and mixing soil in the cold weather.
