I started checking my hostas in earnest on Sunday - we returned in the wee hours of Sunday morning from almost a week with our daughter, SIL and almost 2-yr-old granddaughter.

So I went round on Sunday afternoon with a check-list in hand. The vast majority are accounted for, but about 28 were not. I've found two more both yesterday and today, including one that I knew I had planted but couldn't find in the garden - it's in my veggie garden and the marker had been stepped into the ground.

Fortunately, I took photos of it in late September in that location and was able to search intelligently. Once I found the marker, I found TWO eyes (up from one last year) of a streaked version of Pewterware. Not yet unfurled. Keep your fingers crossed that it's still streaked.

So here's the status report of those not yet accounted for:

Blue Shadows - historically late

Cameo - was very tiny last year. Maybe I just don't see it yet.

Cat and Mouse reversion - this had reverted back to be like Blue Mouse Ears; so it's no big deal if I don't find it.

Cherish - see comment for Cameo

Christmas Pageant - wasn't doing well last year. We'll see.

Fujibotan - historically late

Full Moon - historically late

Ghost Spirit - historically late

Gypsy Rose - found the marker today - another which had been stepped into the ground. Will keep watch. This was a new plant last season to replace one which had HVX a few years ago.

Holy Mouse Ears - I know where the marker is.

Ice Age Trail - historically late

Karin - historically late

Lakeside Mom - this is the one I'm worrying about. Can't find any sign of the plant OR the marker and I know where it should be. Am keeping my fingers crossed.

Lonesome Dove - was very tiny last year

Loyalist - historically late

Masquerade 1 & 2 - historically late

On Stage - historically late

Pandora's Box - see comment for Cameo

Patriot - historically late

Sara - historically late

Surprised By Joy - historically late or hidden in crocus foliage

Tick Tock - historically late

Whirlwind - historically late and possibly also hidden in crocus foliage

I'll check back daily with updates.

Ann
