One rural delivery guy - a temp hired for the Christmas rush - was seen with an open truck-bed loaded with parcels, driving through pouring rain. Exposing the parcels to the rain, and letting them lie in puddles on the bed of his truck.
I guess the post office has rules about parcels, like airlines' rules about luggage. "If we break it, that's YOUR tough luck". Maybe insured parcels that are "over-watered" do get paid for?
Are people like that nearly brain dead, or mean? Or both? Did he expect to get away with it, or did he like being screamed at and then fired? Mad at the world and getting even, one cruel act at a time? Sometimes I don't understand some people.
Ever since then, I try to line my shipping box with one or more plastic bags, tied or taped to resist water at least a little. But they take up space.
