Seeds from this maple (Acer palmatum (Dissectum Group) 'Crimson Queen') did make it to this swap, and this is its winter dance. Seedlings from it differ from their parent, in that they are upright, though with slightly pendulous branches, and leaf colors, patterns, shapes & sizes all vary from each other. All seedlings have graceful winter shapes, as well as colorful leaves summer through their fall changes.
Some gardeners like to use these seeds in bonsai.
