Plantmanager, did you use brush killer near it? Brush killer will sink into the soil and kill certain plants. I don't know if bamboo has sensitive roots - maple trees do.

The only way to corral running bamboo is to put a barricade down about 2 feet. Make it out of something the bamboo won't go through, like concrete. Otherwise, a lot of digging, Round Up or Brush Killer are your other options.
