When mounted on trees, they require minimal care and could reward you with multiple blooms. For most people, they do well in pots kept in shade but receives bright lights. My favorite is any type of Dendrobiums:

Cattleyas, are great. I could not keep them alive too long in pots but when I mounted them on my oak tree, they took off. They do well in pots keep in shade but with bright lights.

Vandas they love hanging under shade trees although some variety of Vandas need some part sun to bloom, mine only require bright lights
