I agree Astrantias are a great addition to the shady garden. They are a beautiful background plant and I love how they intermingle with other plants, like your Star of Billion echoing the Hosta colours. That is a beautiful picture Jeanie! Florists love Astrantia as well because the flowering bracts are so long lasting in arrangements. They will self seed themselves as well, tucking themselves into little gaps in the soil. They are easy to remove and pass on to gardening friends if they are not wanted.
