Thanks for the suggestions. Daylilies wouldn't work. The deer love them! I have grown asters, another deer favorite. I absolutely love daisies, and the deer DO leave them alone. That would probably be very pretty. I've never tried hardy geranium. Definitely worth a try. I grew lavender two years ago and it didn't survive the winter. I planted Walkers Low cat mint this past summer and it was a nice substitute for lavender. I'm hoping it comes back this year!
