Tracey, no real regrets. Would have been fun to be able to do this for a living though! I'm hoping that at some point I have the time to spend working on more artistic photos of the lilies in the garden. Up until now everything in the garden is very hectic when the lilies are blooming and the photos are done for evaluation purposes and not art. Someday I will transition this into more artistic photos.

The challenge the last couple of days has been to get lily seeds planted. Most years I have been planting 150 to 300 - 3 1/4" pots of seedlings in the basement under the lights. This year I am going to plant only 72 pots (1 shelf worth). There is just too much going on this year to do any more than that. I have made the decision to plant only 18 pots of last years OT cross seeds, as these have to go into the garden in October. The OT seedlings just don't make it through the winter here in pots. The other 54 pots are asiatic crosses and these will go into pots in October.

As I did very few asiatic crosses this last summer I am going back to the seed bank in the freezer for prior years seeds. Quite an adventure. Unlike looking through papers on my desktop, which is like a historical dig with the oldest papers on the bottom. Somehow the seeds from 2012 to 2014 ended up on the bottom of the chest freezer. Hmmm, two cornish hens dated 2010 on top of the latest seeds, guess the freezer needs some cleaning out.

Decided I needed to get some 1c breeding stock with higher bud counts. Found a few photos of my cross of George Slate x Satin Slippers. Both are excellent 1c downfacing lilies. Satin Slippers is a more interesting lily but George Slate holds up better in my garden. Planted multiple pots of these. Also planted multiple pots of 02-401 x Satin Slippers (see photo).
