Thanks@Danita. I guess mine isn't a Hand Tool. So, let me just say it here the Orbit Digital Hose Faucet Timer Is the most hardworking "tool" in my yard. And yet, it makes my life so easy! https://www.orbitonline.com/pr...
It supports a single, double, or triple hose systems. The timers can be set at a different time or the same time to run for any amount of time for each hose. I have mine set up for two different above ground sprinklers systems off hoses going off at different times of the day. A third hose is connected to the timer simply so that I don't leave the hose running. There is a "Manual" button for the added convenience of an extra watering session or in my case, to use the hose.

I have two single timers on the side faucets for the side and front sprinkler system. With the use of a Y joint hose splitter diverter directly attached to the timer or the faucet further expands your use of the timers. I like this one from Home Depot. It is easy to turn instead of the tiny little flippers sold on most splitters.

Splitters are handy all around my yard. I used them in a lot of places to divert the water to where I need it. I split the back hose sprinkler to use a hose in the greenhouse and the greenhouse sink. Again, it is on a timer so that it doesn't mistakenly remain on.

These timers last and last. I have had a few for 6-8 years! Alas not everything lasts forever. I had to replace one last year. When it started malfunctioning 4 months later I contacted Orbitonline.com and explained the problems I was having. After a few clarifications, giving them some numbers, they sent me a replacement right away! Who could ask for good old fashioned Good Customer Service?

Buy the timers at Walmart or other box store or online.
