I think you nailed it, Woofie. That sounds and looks like it. Most of my friends who had it were in the horticulture business and had very old plants. I'm not surprised that it faded away because it needed extreme humidity. I had it when I lived in the Marshall Islands. Even with the constant moist island air, I still had to mist it. If I didn't mist for a day or two, the tips turned brown. Itwas such a lovely green when it was happy!
