Yep.. hell strips... Overused in the landscape because they are bombproof here. Where I used to live, the city parks/maintenance folks would cut them to the ground around the end of February so all the growth would be fresh.. They can look a little shabby if not groomed. I've got the variegated form that is a little on the shy side of blooming. Used to be called Moraea. Taxonomists like to keep us horticulturalists on our toes by changing names every so often.
The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.
