Sally - Green Grin! I planted them for the health benefits too. The one I have is self-fertile.

Mine are still going strong. Due to my DH's illness I haven't been able to do much gardening the past couple of years. The plants are supposed to root where the branches touch the ground and can spread to become a dense thicket. I think mine have rooted where they touch the soil but we're under a light blanket of snow right now so that's not visible.
I garden for the pollinators.
