Ooh, I'm so jealous! I've only seen a Great Purple Hairstreak once in my life. For those who don't know, they use mistletoe as a host plant. There's this tree I drive by all the time, and in the winter when it loses most of its leaves, I can see the big ball of mistletoe in it. It's behind a fence but if I wanted, I could stand on the edge of the road and look up at it. I doubt it attracts the butterflies, though because they always mow around it and so there are no good weeds to nectar on.
