I kept it in a pot all last summer and finally planted it in a raised garden bed with somewhat sandy soil around mid-September. I mulched it with decomposed granite. It was one rhizome with a fan on each side. Both fans bloomed in December. As of today, the original fans look good and two more small fans have emerged. I'm pleased, so far, with how it's done.
