I have the purple one which I happened upon at a nursery in a 4" pot. It was very small but healthy.
I planted it on one side of an arbor in full sun and within a year it had covered the arbor, but had very few blooms. When the heat of summer came along it fried so I tore it out. Then a few seedlings appeared so I dug them up and moved them to another arbor which only gets morning sun and it did infinitely better and has now covered that arbor.
It's just now getting flower buds on it. It did get a touch of frost damage but recovered well.
Being that you're in Az. you may want to protect your from hot afternoon sun.
