Relax. It's only a small setback.
I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database!
Those were worth the wait Candee. If you or anyone else needs to replace dahlias (or add more) we're working on a dahlia co-op for Fall, with April delivery. Cmail me and I'll get you on the co-op list for updates. The more entrants, the more buying power we have.

I went to the Puget Sound Dahlia Association annual show this weekend. Thousands of dahlias: big ones, little ones, round ones, spidery ones in every color but blue or green. I was OD'd after 3 hours (and taking notes on new ones for 2011) but did remember to take some photos of their arrangement competition for this forum.

They had four themes to inspire people and of course dahlias were included: Northwest Wines, Winter Olympics, November Rains, and At the Beach.
Some examples follow

I don't get the cell phone here. It was defintiely part of the display.

November Rains- couple examples only, because no one wants to think about those just yet ;)

Are those caladium leaves hiding under the Japanese Maple? Thumb of 2010-08-31/Poochella/44c1ce Thumb of 2010-08-31/Poochella/d4b452 Thumb of 2010-08-31/Poochella/ef706c

Winter Olympics entries. The one with skates is my favorite overall.

Northwest Wines- not too inpiring here, so just a couple.

But baskets of dahlias and many perfect exmples of single dahlias? Ooh boy, I blew out my camera battery twice! So yellow and round: The combo of Tahoma Lael and Pop Willow was very eye-catching.

Stevan's Vanda, I think. Not sure, but I want it- gorgeous bright red.

Pinks- this was the overall basket blue ribbon winner.

Shea's Rainbow basket- triple color splashes all on one dahlia.

As time allows, I'm posting more single views including close ups at the Dahlia Cubit, if you care to see more. There are some fabulous new varieties in the works, not yet out for public growing, but hopefully coming soon.
