I have not attempted strawberries in upside down planters.
I did at one time grow cherry tomatoes in upside down planters.
That worked really well.
The plants do tend to make u shaped branches which want to go back up.
I did it for a few years when my grandson was little,
and we hung the planter so he could pick the tomatoes.
