I bought the other day a Phrag pearcei in spike from Pipingrockorchids. Now we had seen them in Ecuador growing on a riverbank, which gets totally flooded every so often to the point that they are totally submerged.

Now I could only hope I could do this plant justice!!
I took the plant home and placed it at the back of the aquarium pump. I certainly won't take credit for this beautiful bloom, but I am happy I didn't kill the bud. Perhaps that might be a good way to grow this plant outside too, since I will now have to invest in a pump for our pond because of this Goldfish.....
