Wow! I think Florida had the right idea.
Looks like some consider it invasive in Texas and some say it's 'native'. I would definitely say it spreads easily just from observation, considering the neighbors 1 mature plant turned into somewhere between 25 to 35 plants, not counting the ones I have already ripped/dug up.
