That is a great idea too. My roof won't allow ..it is steeply pitched metal and in a good rain all the water directed to the gutter is so much it overwhelms. But if that gutter isn't a main one, it would be great to have a barrel. Sometimes the city sells them for $50 - with spigots and all.
