Kabby that is a good idea about the bamboo. She may be able to find something hardy for her area but growing in a pot it would probably have to be hardy to zone 2.
It is hard to find plants that grow fast and tall in a pot unless you can find something hardy for our weather. l have been experimenting with different hardy plants for pots. I am a crazy plant lady. I have several acres of garden land but I have a patio that is the size of a suburban back yard that I want to be tropical but with hardy plants. I do not want to have to drag more plants inside. Plus I do not want to keep spending a fortune for annuals every year.
