@DavidLMO - lisianathus are fairly easy from seed, but slow growers. I usually start in January for blooms mid-late summer, but they do bloom until frost. Even have had some reseed here in my compost.

I'm still working on artichokes, too--can be done in our zone but takes a bit of planning to trick them into producing the first year.

Can you post photos of your frankincense and myrrh? Would love to see what they would look like.
