Good idea, but I'd like to suggest a revision... Let's keep the "quantity per packet" field for describing the type/size (seedling, cutting, bare root division, etc). Instead, you can keep track of reserved plants under the "comments" field... but remember to revise your totals before trading opens. :-)

I think, however, it's actually more fair to have people keep track of their own wishes and call dibs on them as trading begins... Spreading out the opportunity to ask for "prime" plants is one of the benefits of using the Swaps tool. I don't think it's been a particular problem with our group, but let's use it as designed. You can still keep track of interest in the "comments" field for your own use, so you know if you should go ahead and split up that second clump of daylilies or whatnot. But in fairness people shouldn't consider a plant to be "theirs" until they call dibs on it.
