Welcome Alan. I grow some clems in containers.I use the same techniques as when I put them in the ground...crown 2-3" below soil,mulch and fertilize.I add expanded shale in the soil to make sure the drainage is good. They seem to need a little more attention in a container to make sure they don't dry out or stay too wet
