Pine is great for a Hugle. I just dug a wide trench , piled in the branches and covered it with the dirt I dug out. Try to compact the branches so your dirt will not sift through too much. I add a few branches as they happen. They say a good hugle will last for 10 years. And then need to be re-built. I added a bit of dirt to some low places this year.
