I didn't know what "southern peas" were either, or at least I only thought of them as being dried -- no idea why it never occurred to me that they would also be eaten fresh! Since I've never had them, I guess I have to say green peas are my favorite, although that doesn't seem quite fair. I can say with authority that I don't like the 'hot boiled peanuts" that southerners seem to favor! Whistling
