these things have a long taproot kind of like dandelions do and I have yet to kill one i think w/o roundup and probably multiple applications. You can't pull them, they just break off and then they grow back. Very robust. I kind of hate them. I just use a paint brush and apply the roundup right to the leaves that way it doesn't get anywhere I don't want it.
